Cool stuff…
cool stuff…
I’m not sure if you heard, but a ragtag pack of Somali pirates was wiped out by our Navy Seals.
Why?
Because these punk pirates kidnapped a US aid worker and our powerful government stepped in and said “enough”.
What I find interesting is that there were no negotiations with the pirates.
In fact, the Seals parachuted into the target zone. They encountered enemy fire from the pirates. They fired back. They wiped out the pirates. They grabbed the hostages. And “puff” they disappeared in their helicopters.
There were no negotiations.
I like that approach a lot better than sitting around with a megaphone trying to talk sense into a pack of irrational Somali pirates.
Can you imagine that?
Neither do I.
And that belittling reminds me of something I’ve recently experienced in my business.
No, I didn’t come across a group of goofy Somali pirates.
But I met a guy who wanted to hijack my business.
As?
He tried to negotiate my prices.
And my policy on this is firm:
I do not negotiate my prices under any circumstances.
If you can’t afford to pay more… for better quality… then don’t come to me.
I’m not mean about it or Preisvergleich anything. But one of the worst things you can do is negotiate your prices. Why? Because the moment you do that, your potential customer starts to think you overcharged them in the first place.
And nobody likes to feel like they’re being overcharged.
Instead, I suggest using a policy that clearly states that your prices are fair and honest, so don’t negotiate them.
Sort of like buying a Saturn.
Do you remember these cars?
Her claim to fame was “the price is the price,” which appealed to many people, since hardly anyone likes buying a new car because of all the unnecessary price negotiations they have to go through.
So anyway…
That’s your business.
But in mine I never negotiate my prices because they are fair from the start.
And something else:
If you’re serious about growing your business, then most likely you just need a few more good ideas like the ones in this article.
So ask yourself this:
Where can you go for more good ideas like what you just read in this article?
In my humble opinion you have to be careful where you look for good ideas because almost everyone and their brother claims to be what is called a “business expert”.
Remember:
Saying is one thing.
Doing is another.
And most of these “talking minds” have never run their own successful small businesses.
