Over recent years many people have begun to adopt this kind of flooring. They are many different types of concrete flooring that we can choose from. Here is a guide to some of the common types of concrete that we can readily find in the market.

Different types of polished concrete surface

Cream polished concrete

One of the most popular types of flooring found in residential areas is cream polishing. This essentially just involves polishing the top surface of the poured concrete with diamond. It gives it a very creamy glossy finish. It is also often known as bronze concrete polished finishing. This method does involve the process of grinding or removing concrete.

This non-removal allows for the unique structure of the poured concrete to appear. However, the catch here is that the poured concrete should be of good quality, and it will also depend on the technique of how the concrete has been poured. We also have to keep in mind that the concrete is aligned properly and that there are no uneven surfaces. This type of polishing can also not be done on revocation works.

Exposed aggregate polished concrete

The concrete mix is filled with crushed stones and sand in this method. The mixture is poured such that the crushed stones and sand are exposed on the top surface. When we polish it, the upper layer of the concrete is exposed. This makes it anti-skid and a perfect choice for places with very heavy foot traffic. It is also perfect for places to withstand heavy weather conditions, such as bus stations, railway stations, etc. Therefore, this type of polishing is very popular or commercial places. It looks granite and usually comes in earthy brown tones or red or rose quartz. Hence, if you are a business owner looking at new flooring options choosing this type of finish may be beneficial.

Salt and pepper polished concrete

Popularly known as a gold concrete finish, this type of polishing requires grinding and exposing the finer particles of the paste. This allows them to be versatile and perfect for residential and commercial places. It gives a very high gloss finish, unlike the aggregate finish that gives a matte look. It provides a unique look to the flooring and allows for customization. You can easily customize such a type of polished concrete flooring in any colour, making it perfect for all kinds of establishments. However, this kind of finish requires expert work and can be very expensive for residential projects. However, this is the best option for such renovation projects as you can no longer have cream-polished concrete.

Concluding thoughts

Therefore, these are the dew common types of polished concrete. There are many benefits of choosing polished concrete. They are extremely aesthetic and last long. In addition to this, they also have anti-skid properties. Having polished concrete is also very easy to maintain. Polished concrete is also very environmentally friendly. Hence, if you are looking for a better alternative to other flooring choicest you should not undermine the role of a concreter here and hire the best one.
