As a BMW diesel owner, you have several options if you want to improve the performance of your vehicle. There are many different BMW diesel models and although the details of each model are different, the options are the same whether you are 320d, 330d or 535d.
In general, if you’re looking to upgrade your car, you’ll probably look into tuning the car’s fuel injection system so you get more efficient combustion, more power, and possibly better fuel economy. Aside from the diesel tuning system, the company’s most recent innovations include BMW scanner tools. The scan tool is intended to assist drivers in troubleshooting and diagnosing vehicle issues. These new products are intended to assist drivers in getting the most out of their vehicles.
The upgrade can be done in one of two ways.
One option is to reprogram the existing chip in the engine management system. This process is known as remapping and should be done at a specialist service center. The advantage of this system is that it is almost invisible. But the rest is also difficult and if there is something wrong with the engine you need to find someone who can replace the program.
Another great option is to use what some call a “piggy back”, which is integrated into the existing engine management system and changes the fuel map according to its own schedule. The advantage of this system is that it is easy to adapt – in fact, you just need to plug it in and it works. What’s more, it’s completely reversible, so if you sell the car, you can keep the gearbox – perhaps by redesigning it for your new model.
Looking at popular BMW models allows us to see
What improvements can be made using this method? The BMW 320 D E46 is a popular diesel tuning Sunshine Coast and several variants are available. The 150PS model can be increased to 190PS via the transmission, while the maximum torque rises from 330Nm to 410Nm. The 535 D is another popular model with a 286 PS engine that can be upgraded to 340 PS or backed-up with a torque increase from 580 to 700 Nm.
Let’s also see how to plug in your BMW car. It seems to include: opening the hood, putting out the fire. The engine cover must be removed with a screw (Allen Key). Next should be the injection pump – it’s usually on the right under the cover on 320D models, although the instructions will help you find the pump on other models. The connector of the existing injection canister should be removed and the existing canister inserted between them. The box can then be secured with Velcro fasteners and a waterproof seal to keep it safe and dry. Pre-installation of the model requires further adjustments, so all that is required is to reattach the cover and the car is taken for testing.
While the requirements for each model are small,
The manufacturer says the box only needs 10 minutes to fit. So you have a choice, you can either reset the existing chip of the car or add a Diesel Tuning box using the method described above. Each method has its followers and in fact, both can be very effective if the right tools are used, so it remains only to choose the system that suits you best and enjoy improving the performance of your diesel vehicle.
