Until very recently only adults were believed to be affected by diabetes, but this notion changed all of a sudden when children below 18 years of age also started to show symptoms of diabetes. Diabetes is a disease in which either the pancreas fails to produce insulin in abundance or the body of the individual fails to process it properly and react to it. Insulin is produced in the pancreas by the beta cells and is responsible for the maintenance of human blood sugar level i.e it regulates the sugar level in human blood. The top diabetologist in Nagpur says that when a certain somebody has diabetes the insulin in their body fails to perform its task and as a result, blood sugar level either drastically rises or falls. Major symptoms of diabetes include excessive urination, excessive hunger and thirst, dry and itchy skin, and unexplained weight gain or loss.

There is no such specific answer as to how a person gets diabetes but it is mostly believed that obesity, eating loads of junk food and oily foods, living too much of a sedentary lifestyle, and being careless with your food are some of the major reasons why one gets diabetes. It is important to understand that whatever you eat clearly affects your body and not eating healthy means you are putting your own body at risk of malfunctioning which is what happens to someone with diabetes, their body malfunctions. Prolonged diabetes results in many more complications like kidney problems, heart-related problems, difficulty in breathing, and much more. Diabetes also causes death.

Type 2 diabetes:
Previously known as the non-insulin-dependent, or adult-onset diabetes is the most common form of diabetes people are diagnosed with. Statistics show that about 95% of total diabetic patients are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. This condition arises as a result of insulin resistance that arises inside the human body, the immune system by mistake attacks the beta cells in the pancreas responsible for the production of the blood sugar level-regulating hormone insulin.

Type 1 diabetes:
Previously known as insulin-dependent, juvenile or childhood-onset is the type of diabetes which occurs as a result of inadequate production of insulin and hence requires frequent administration of insulin on a certain regular basis. The data released by the World Health Organisation shows that back in 2017 about 9 million individuals were diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. It is a genetic disease and poses a risk of passing from one generation to another.

Gestational diabetes:
