If you have ever been curious about the stages of bud growth, or just wanted to see pictures of it in action, you’re in luck! In this article, we will be taking a look at images of both the vegetative and flowering stages of a cannabis plant. We will also be discussing what to watch for when growing cannabis and some tips on taking better pictures.
Stages of Bud Growth
As the cannabis plant grows, it will go through a series of stages called the vegetative stage, the flowering stage, and the pre-laze stage.
The vegetative stage is when the plant is growing leaves and stems. The flowering stage is when the plant starts to produce buds and flowers. The pre-laze stage is when the buds are starting to get ready to be harvested.
Different Types of Cannabis
Different types of bud growth pictures have different growth patterns. Here are the four most common stages: pre-flowering, flowering, post-flowering, and maturing.
Indica vs. Sativa
The cannabis plant is capable of growing in many different ways, depending on the strain of cannabis used. Indica plants are typically more indica-dominant, meaning they grow taller and have a more relaxed, body-relaxing effect. Sativa plants are usually more sativa-dominant, with a more energizing, cerebral effect.
How to Grow Cannabis
Cannabis growers often wonder what the different stages of bud growth look like.
Here are some pictures to give you a better idea:
Stage 1: The bud is just beginning to form. This is the earliest stage and can be seen as small, tight clusters. The leaves at the base of the plant are also starting to develop. The buds will continue to grow during this stage, but they won’t be very large or dense.
Stage 2: The buds have grown considerably in size and are now more spread out. The leaves at the base of the plant have fully developed and the buds themselves may be anywhere from 1/2 inch to 2 inches wide. The buds will continue to grow during this stage, but they won’t be very dense.
Stage 3: The buds have reached their full size and are now quite thick. They may be up to 3 inches wide and 1 inch thick, making them some of the largest and densest found on cannabis plants. At this point, the buds are ready to be harvested.
