Digital Technology

Recently, teenagers are often surrounded by technology, even though the younger generation does not see it, technology has an impact on the world as a whole. The widespread use of digital technology in the music industry allows consumers to create low-cost digital versions of copyrighted songs using many software and websites.
The growth of music downloads and exchanges is responsible for the decline in music sales since the late 1990s.

Information and communication technologies, and in particular the Internet, are changing the logic of consumption and the process of making music.
One of the biggest challenges for the music industry is solving the invention of the MP3 file. This population survived from 1996 to 1999 and piracy has become increasingly important since then. An MP3 file allows people to store files on computers and share music with anyone in the world.
In addition, YouTube, the world’s third most visited site after Google and Facebook, has 100 hours of video per minute. One important thing to remember is that YouTube pays artists and music publishers. We also have other channels like Vevo.

In 2003, Apple released the iTunes Store. With more than 500 million users in 119 countries, the iTunes Store has more than 25 billion songs. Today, artists make the most of their money by touring and selling music on iTunes.
Although digital technology has had a negative impact on the music sector, new devices have emerged to help the music sector. Today, the industry is inspired by a competition created by Spotify or even SoundCloud to display music and protect copyrights for free or at a very low price. Entertainment became a popular instrument more than a decade ago with famous musicians at the center with names like 50 Cent Born ‘Curtis James Jackson’, The Notorious B. I. G Born Christopher George Latore Wallace, D. M. C Born Darryl Mc Daniels, 2Pac Born Tupac Shakur, LL Cool J was born James Todd Smith and a number of other leading foreign musicians who have truly shown the world the greatness of what music entails. They inspire young and future artists to the basics of music and the need to understand music not only as a career but as something that can relieve the body of stress and revitalize the soul. The entertainment sector has conquered people’s minds by promoting art and culture and then lifestyle. Even as we speak the music industry has extended to all parts of the world and they produce their country music, these includes, Nigerian Music industry, Ghana Music industry, and some other African Countries doing greatly.

As we conclusion, digital technology has greatly affected the music industry and has made a significant contribution to the industry, with its disadvantages too. One favourable factor is being that digital technology makes music accessible to people in the meadows and have access to music at all times.
