Why Chinese Food is the Best Cuisine in the World

by Nathan Zachary

Ever wonder why Chinese food has such an allure about it? Why do so many people love the traditional Chinese dishes that have been passed down from generation to generation? Is it just because the flavors are so good? Maybe it’s because of the sophisticated preparation techniques that have been mastered over centuries? Maybe, it’s because most people think of Chinese food as comfort food. Whatever the reason, it’s difficult to argue against the fact that Chinese cuisine and Chinese food makes up some of the best dishes in the world. Here are just a few reasons why this is true.

Congee

Chinese food has been a part of people’s diets for centuries and it’s not hard to see why. It’s healthy, delicious, varied and has something to offer everyone. A staple of Chinese cuisine is rice porridge, which is called congee. Unlike other types of porridge, congee combines rice with water until it becomes a thin soup that can include any number of ingredients like meat or vegetables (depending on the region). Congee is comforting when you’re not feeling well because it’s easy to digest and also soothing as it soothes your stomach lining.

It might be difficult to find congee outside of China but that doesn’t mean you should give up on trying!

Dumplings

Pot stickers can be boiled or pan-fried and then served with soy sauce or another dipping sauce. Wontons are steamed in little dumpling wrappers that are usually square or round. These little appetizers are great finger food when you’re looking for something light to snack on at an event.

But my favorite of all time might be Chinese Baden Baden–a type of soup dumpling–because it’s so simple and delicious.

Wonton Soup

The first dish that most people think of when they think about Chinese food is wonton soup. It’s simple and savory with a light broth, meat, and vegetables swimming in it. The wontons themselves are typically filled with pork, shrimp, or vegetables and then boiled before eating. The broth has a salty taste from soy sauce, chicken stock, and sesame oil as well as white pepper to give it some spice. These ingredients can be found at any grocery store or Asian market and make for an easy weeknight meal!

Egg Drop Soup

Chinese Egg Drop Soup is a healthy, comforting way to start your meal. The recipe includes an egg, green onion, chicken broth, salt and pepper. After cooking down the onions and garlic, add in some chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Add salt and pepper as desired. Crack one egg into a bowl and slowly pour it into the soup while stirring with chopsticks or a spoon. If you’d like it thicker, add more eggs or cut back on the amount of broth used for water.

Start your morning off right with this tasty breakfast idea!

Appetizers

Chinese food is one of the most popular types of cuisine all over the world, and it has a long and rich history that dates back to 2,000 years ago. One of the best parts about Chinese food is that there are so many different types from which to choose. Whether you’re craving fried noodles or hot pot, Chinese Baden Baden can offer something for everyone.

Steamed Rice Dishes

Fried noodles with vegetables Chinese Baden Baden are a traditional dish from Northern China. The noodles are cooked by stir-frying, then dipped in a sauce. They’re traditionally served with vegetables and meat or shrimp, but you can also make them vegetarian. Soups Chinese soups come in many varieties and ingredients, but hot and sour soup is one of the most popular dishes. There are no strict rules for what goes into this soup, so you can add anything that sounds good to you! Tofu Dishes A tofu dish is usually made with deep fried tofu and other ingredients like celery, cucumber, green onion, garlic soy sauce or sesame oil and sugar. Hot Pot Hot pot dishes originated from Sichuan cuisine.

Curries & Stir Fry’s

Chinese food has always been one of my favorites. I just love all of the flavors and how you can choose from so many different types. What I love about fried rice, specifically, is that it’s not only a great source of carbs for energy but also contains many nutrients for your body. Lo mein noodles are another favorite because they’re so versatile. You can take them and mix them with any type of sauce or meat or vegetable you want to make a dish that fits your cravings at that time.
