GoDaddy For Domain Names

When it comes to domain names and website hosting, GoDaddy is a well-known name. But the truth is that there are a lot of better companies out there that are even better than GoDaddy. Listen to the following three reasons why you shouldn’t do business with GoDaddy.

The following are three reasons why you should never use GoDaddy for domain names.

Price and Features

As mentioned by live journal GoDaddy’s prices may seem cheap to some people, but in reality, they are more expensive than most of their competitors, and you get less features and reliability in return.

A.com domain name through GoDaddy costs $9.99 for the first year and $14.99 for the next year. There is an extra charge of $7.99 a year if you want the WHOIS privacy. A.com domain name with privacy from GoDaddy costs just under $18 for the first year, and just under $23 for the rest of its life.

A competitor like NameSilo would charge you only $8.99 a year for the same.com domain. It would also come with free WHOIS privacy and protection against malicious attacks, so you would not have to pay extra for that. This should make it clear that GoDaddy’s domain name prices are very bad.

You can get your first year of hosting for half price, but if you renew, your hosting costs will go up by double. In one example, GoDaddy’s cheapest hosting plan costs $35.88 for the first 12 months, but it costs $71.88 if you want it to stay that way for another year. You can get a “Hatchling” plan from HostGator for $66.72, but it will cost you $80.06 if you want to keep it for a long time. HostGator’s shared hosting plans come with unlimited email accounts, cPanel, instant backups, unlimited MySQL databases, and unlimited disc space. GoDaddy doesn’t have these features and quora as well. While HostGator’s plan is somewhat more expensive than GoDaddy’s, it is worth the extra cost for the additional features, performance, and customer support.

They want to keep attempting to sell you stuff and take as much money as possible from you. There are several pop-up advertising that appear as you are checking out. It’s also difficult to use the daily email coupons without spending far more money than expected.

Performance

GoDaddy’s hosting solutions are often slower than those of other companies at the same price, and they can be hit by long, unexpected outages.

Risks

Most people know that GoDaddy is a company that sells web hosting. But in the world of web design, very few people use it.

Their online reputation is abysmal, with a full website dedicated to telling people not to do business with them. Many people have had unpleasant experiences with GoDaddy and have made their complaints public.

Nodaddy.com, a website containing true GoDaddy stories, was taken down by GoDaddy. Their CEO, Bob Parsons, has even uploaded a video of himself shooting and killing an endangered animal. This is not good for the company’s reputation.
