Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5g Review Australia - Is it worth buying in 2022?

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is one of the latest phones with a triple-camera setup on the back and a quad-camera setup on the front. Its battery lasts for days even if you have heavy usage, especially if you use the phone under 4G.

So many people are complaining about the lack of apps that can be used by the S21 FE, but if you don’t want to spend much money on the phone then this is the right choice. But, if you have an extra $200 AUD or so in your pocket, then we would recommend getting either the Galaxy Z Fold 3 or the Galaxy Z Flip 3, or the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Pro. All these phones are better equipped with the best features, though there isn’t much difference between them.

If you’re looking for a phone under $650 AUD then the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is worth considering. We highly recommend that you make all the purchases online through Phonebot. You ‘ll get the cheapest price for the items you need and they offer free shipping as well. In addition, they also provide 24/7 customer support so that you can reach out to them whenever you need help.

Design

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE comes with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. This screen has a punchy 120Hz refresh rate. The phone has a notch at the top which houses the selfie camera, a front-facing flash, and the earpiece. The back of the phone has a hole for the rear camera setup. There is a fingerprint sensor beneath its screen.

If you’re wondering how big the phone is, then it is 155.7 x 74.5 x 7.9 mm and the weight is 177 grams. It looks slightly smaller when compared to the Galaxy S10e and the Galaxy S20 FE. However, it has similar dimensions to the Galaxy A51 2021. The phone runs on Android 12.

Camera

There are triple cameras on the front and a quad camera on the back. The triple camera setup on the front consists of a 12 MP, f/1.8, 26mm wide, 8 MP, f/2.4, 76mm telephoto and a 12 MP, f/2.2, 13mm ultrawide lens.

It does not have a 3D face scanner like the Galaxy S10 FE and it does not include any AI-based features in the camera. The face unlock feature works pretty well and the time required to unlock the phone is about 1.35 seconds. The phone uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset which powers most of the devices released to date. It comes preloaded with Android 12, One UI 4 setup.

Battery life

The Galaxy S21 FE houses a 4500 mAh non-removable battery. On our tests, it lasted over 15 hours without using the power saver mode. When we tested the battery under 4G, it lasted for over 20 hours. So, if you have a busy week full of work and fun activities, then you won’t have to worry about charging the phone regularly. The charger charges quickly too. It takes just 40 minutes to go from 0% to 100% charge. The device supports fast charging technology via a USB-C port.

Audio quality

The audio quality is good. Even if you play loud songs while listening to them through headphones, there is no distortion. The sound gets muffled after the volume goes high. You can adjust the audio quality settings according to your requirements.

Smartphone performance

The phone performs well even under heavy multitasking. We were able to open multiple windows simultaneously on Chrome and Spotify. While playing a video on YouTube and downloading a game at the same time, there were no lags. However, if you plan to download games, movies, or music from Google Play Store, then make sure to check the storage before you buy the phone.

Connectivity

This phone offers excellent network service. We got good speeds on both CDMA and LTE networks. Under 4G, the data speed was quite average. However, if you connect to a Wi-Fi network, then the speeds improve significantly.

Software updates

The Galaxy S21 FE receives monthly security patches and updates. The company releases an update for Android 12 OS every month. In addition to this, the company also releases an update for the Bixby assistant which makes the phone compatible with the Amazon Alexa app. You can download the latest update from the Samsung website.

Security

The phone is protected by Samsung Knox which allows you to set a PIN lock for the device. You can choose whether to enable a Face Recognition lock or Fingerprint unlock. You can also turn off notifications during the night while you sleep. The phone comes with several privacy controls. You can also add a password to prevent anyone else from accessing your personal information.
