MBBS in Clinical Medicine
The main objectives of the MSc in Clinical Medicine are to provide international students with knowledge of the structure and function of the human body, human behavior, and normal mental status; the causes of common and prevalent diseases, including mental illness, and the influence of environmental, social, behavioral and psychological factors on the onset and development of disease and the importance of disease prevention; the pathogenesis, clinical features, diagnosis, and prevention of common and prevalent diseases;
basic knowledge of pharmacology and clinical principles of rational use of drugs; normal pregnancy and childbirth, management of common obstetric emergencies, principles of prenatal and postnatal care and family planning; health education and disease prevention, common diseases, disabilities, rehabilitation, palliative care, and general practice; knowledge of clinical epidemiology; basic patterns of emergence and transmission of common infectious diseases and prevention of common infectious diseases.

About Wuhan University Medical School
The medical school was originally named Hubei Medical University and merged with Wuhan University in 2000. The medical school has several sub-schools, including basic medicine, stomatology, public health, and nursing. It has 3 affiliated hospitals and 35 teaching hospitals.
The hospitals have 5,080 beds, 15 million outpatient beds per year, 50,000 inpatient beds per year, 25,000 major operations, and an extensive list of 100 clinical departments and 30 laboratories. It has a staff of 2,500, of whom 1,125 are associate professors, senior doctors, associate professors, and senior assistants.
The school currently enrolls more than 5 100 students, including 3 000 undergraduates, 1 500 graduates, and 600 foreign students. Through academic exchange programs, the school has good relations and cooperation with hospitals and institutions in the USA, UK, France, Germany, Finland, Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
WHU’s Faculty of Medicine offers medical students a wide range of specializations, including clinical medicine (five, six, seven, and eight years), stomatology (five, seven, and eight years), preventive medicine, medical laboratory science, pharmaceutical science, and nursing. Clinical medicine is listed as an “undergraduate specialty” among the medical faculties of the Chinese Ministry of Education.
The school has two provincial model centers for experimental teaching. The total area of the experimental teaching building is 7432 square meters. The Experimental Teaching Centers are well-organized and fully operational, with 2,689 units, with a total value of RMB 42.92 million.
The Centre for Experimental Teaching in Basic Medicine has three experimental teaching platforms: morphology, kinesiology and molecular biology, and immunology. The Center for Experimental Teaching in Clinical Skills is equipped with advanced medical experimental tools, such as intelligent simulation robots, Sim total simulation robots, SimBaby infant total simulation robots, SimBaby high simulation head models, PCR models, and obstetric delivery models.
The WHU School of Medicine has three directly affiliated first-class hospitals for internships and student practice after graduation. These three hospitals are WHU Hospital of Stomatology, WHU Renmin Hospital (Renmin Hospital of Hubei Province) and Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan Plus University. Renmin Hospital has 2680 beds, while Zhongnan Hospital has 2100 beds.
WHU School of Medicine has 11 indirectly affiliated teaching hospitals, all of which are first-class. It also has six practice centers in community health centers.
Admission requirements
Applicants must be non-citizens with a valid passport and hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Deadline for submitting applications
The deadline for applications is 15 June each year.
Tuition fees
Tuition fees are RMB 40 000 per annum. The total cost for the six-year program is RMB 240 000.

Upon completion of the six-year training, students should be able to master these medical skills, collect medical history in a thorough, systematic and regular manner, conduct systematic and standardized physical and psychiatric examinations, and prepare standardized documents, make and express accurate clinical judgments; diagnose and treat common diseases in internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics and other fields of medicine; diagnose and treat general emergencies;
