Introduction

Alang Madan Kulang trek is located in the Kalsubai range of Sahyadris situated in Maharashtra. It is a difficult trekking route in Maharashtra. The rough terrain, caves and boulders and dense forest make this trek extremely difficult. From the summit, you’ll enjoy forts, beautiful plateaus, and some peaks like Kalsubai, Vishramgad, Vikatgad, Ratangad, Ajobagad, Sandhan valley, Harishchandragad, Bhandardara, Dangya Pinnacle. This is not a trek for individuals who are on their own. It is best to complete the trek in groups. The forest portion of this hike will be exciting. This path is full of stones and boulders that could cause some difficulties on your hike. The forest area is brimming with an array of wildlife and flora. It is possible to view the wildlife in this area. There are a number of base villages, such as Ambewadi, Ghatghar, Kurungwadi. From these villages, you can begin your trek. Numerous trekkers agree the following: Ghatghar towards Kurungwadi is the most suitable way to go on this trek.

Best Time:

The best time to undertake this trek is during October through February. In general, before and after monsoon, you can undertake this trek. When monsoon is heavy rain hits the region, this time it is best to stay clear of this hike. In the months following monsoon the path was slippery and slick. Every trekker should check the weather conditions in order to avoid excessive rain.

Day 1

Part 1

The first day, you will have to walk between Ghatghar up to Alangad. The total distance for tek is around 6.5 to 7 km. This will take 4.5 minutes to finish. You can view an enormous field. From here, you must travel towards Alang Fort.Walk straight until you reach the forts that have a U shape. There are three forts right in the front of you. The splendor of these forts is stunning. In a few minutes, you’ll be able to see streams. When you cross the stream, the trail begins to climb gradually to the section of forest. It is advised choose the best walking shoes for your needs. After that, a walk of 2 kilometers will lead one to the West of Alang hill. The views will be spectacular. From here, you will catch the stunning Alang summit. After a short walk, you will get to Alang Fort. From the top , you will be able to see the incredible plateaus. These plateaus measure between 2 and 2.5 kilometers in length. To the north of the Alang Fort, there are caves.

Part 2.

In this chapter, you have to walk between Alangad towards Mandangad. It’s 2.5 km. This will take 4.5 hour to cover. The main descent starts here. It is necessary to descend until Madankhind. Prior to that, one has to traverse some difficult areas. It is necessary to climb up and downs to several vertical walls. On the northern end of Alang fort, you must traverse the steep areas using ropes. After you have crossed this section it is necessary to traverse another 40 feet and the 25-foot wall. The two sections require an extended time to complete. Every trekker requires close to 15 to 16 minutes for these sections. Therefore, if you’re in large groups, it could take a while. A 700-meter walk will bring one to Madankhind. On the left side, you will encounter Mandangad.

Then you begin climbing toward Madan Fort. The first step is to traverse a section using fixed rope. Then, you can walk through rough paths. After this rough and tumble, you will need to climb 45 feet up a vertical rock using the aid of ropes. From here, you must walk along a different rocky path until you arrive at Madan Fort. From here, you will have an excellent perspective from Kulang fort. This is where you can explore an underground cave that can accommodate 50 people at one time.

Day 2

Part 3

This day you will need to begin your journey from Mandangad and then get to Kulanggad. Start your day by climbing an upwards of 45 feet vertical rock. Then , walk for a mile filled with grassy bushes and rocky paths. When you reach the col of Madan and Kulang fort, you can walk straight for about 800m. You will then have to walk 150 metres of a uphill. After a couple of hours, you’ll be able view the cave. If you bring your tent, it’s good. The cave can be used to relaxing. From the top, a 360-degree view will surprise you. In the east, you can explore the entire trail that is simply amazing. You can visit the fort, and then go toward Kurundwadiwhich is the final destination of the hike.

Part 4

The descent begins towards Kurundwadi It takes about approximately 4 hour to do. Total distance of around 5 km. The first step is crossing this section of the Ridge. After crossing this section , you have to traverse through sections of forest. A 2.5 hour walk will bring you to a small village. From there, a 3 km straight surface will bring you to Kurundwadi, where your hike closes.
